Bridal Beauty Timeline: Twelve Months to the Wedding Day

Bridal beauty is a schedule, not a single appointment. A realistic timeline starts twelve months out and protects the skin, the hair and the day itself.

Twelve months out: set the plan

Start with a skin review. A dermatologist or a trusted esthetician can map out any treatment you want for the year, including acne care, pigment work or laser sessions, since some treatments need several months to show results and must stop before the wedding.

Book the people who matter most early: the hair stylist, the makeup artist and any treatment room you return to. Ask them to show you their work on people with a similar skin tone and hair type.

Six to three months: test and adjust

Schedule a hair trial and a makeup trial at least two months before the day. Bring the veil, the neckline and the lighting you expect. Take photos in natural light and indoor light, since both will be part of the day.

Patch test any new product or treatment at least six weeks out. A reaction shows up within days, and it is much easier to correct a reaction with time to spare.

The final month and final week

In the final month, stop new active skincare, including exfoliating acids and new retinoids, and keep the routine boring and steady. Book any last facial or lash appointment at least a week before the day to let the skin settle. In the final week, drink water, sleep well, and do a dry run of the timing for the morning.

Keep the wedding-day kit small: sunscreen for photos, blotting papers, a touch-up lip, and the lash glue or tape you already tested.

Questions people ask

When should I book a makeup trial?

Two to three months before the wedding, so there is time to change the shade or the technique if needed.

Should I have a facial the week before?

A gentle facial at least a week before is fine. Avoid strong exfoliation or peels in the last few weeks.
